Lynn's Chicken and Dressing
Lynn'S Chicken And Dressing is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 medium chicken (3 to 4 lb.), 1 medium onion, diced, 1/2 stick butter or margarine, 1 can cream of celery soup and 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Boil chicken until done; skin and debone, reserving chicken broth.
Shred or cut into small strips.
Saute onion in the butter until soft and clear.
In a large casserole, layer some of the onion mixture, chicken and 1/2 of the package of stuffing.
Mix the can of celery soup and 1 can of broth.
Pour over the first layer of chicken casserole.
Layer another layer of onion, chicken and the rest of the stuffing.
Mix the remaining can of soup with 1 can of broth; pour over the casserole.
Bake, covered, for about 30 minutes at 350Β°.
Uncover; top with grated cheese and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese melts.
