Toast bread that has been buttered.

Soak raisins in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.

Tear bread into small pieces and place in baking dish.

Sprinkle on the raisins.

Scald milk.

Stir in the 1/3 cup sugar.

Beat eggs slightly and add to warm milk. Stir until sugar is dissolved.

Pour milk mixture over bread and raisins and let stand about 10 minutes.
