Use a large, heavy pan and cook very, very slow.
Cook sugar, syrup and cream, stirring until boiling, then cook to 234°, soft ball stage.
Let cool 5 minutes, then add butter and vanilla.
Then add flour and beat 15 minutes.
Add nuts and pour in dish.
Cut when cool.
