Louise's Oatmeal Cookies
Louise'S Oatmeal Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. raisins, 3/4 c. water, 1 c. shortening, 2 c. brown sugar and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Boil raisins in water; drain raisins, saving 1/3 cup juice. Cream shortening; add sugar and cream again.
Add beaten eggs. Stir in oats.
Sift flour with spices, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Add alternately with 1/3 cup raisin water.
Add nuts and raisins.
Spoon onto cookie sheet with tablespoon or roll into balls by hand.
Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly brown at 350Β°. Do not overbake or the cookies will be hard.
