Light Bread
Light Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. hot water, 1/2 c. shortening, 1/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt and 2 pkg. yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Mix hot water, shortening, sugar and salt.
Let cool.
Mix yeast in warm water.
Add to sugar mixture.
Add flour to make a stiff batter.
Put in large container; let rise 2 hours in warm place.
Grease pans.
Stir in more flour until dough is stiff. Knead dough thoroughly.
Make into loaves or buns.
Let rise 2 hours.
Bake in preheated oven at 400Β° until done.
Makes several loaves.
Brush top with oleo.
