Lemon Sponge Pudding

Mix first 7 ingredients in order, blending well.
Fold in egg whites with rubber spatula.
Pour batter into lightly greased ovenproof bowl set in a pan of water.
Bake at 350Β° for approximately 40 minutes or until pudding turns golden brown and pulls away from sides of bowl.
Makes a light cake with a very rich lemon syrup.
Serves 4.
