Lemon-Lime Sherbet
Lemon-Lime Sherbet is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. milk, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 6 tbsp. fresh lemon juice and 6 tbsp. fresh lime juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Combine milk, sugar and salt in large bowl; stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
Gradually add combined juices and lemon peel to milk, stirring constantly (mixture may appear curdled at this stage, but final product is not affected).
Stir in food coloring. Chill.
Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.
Makes approximately 2 quarts.
