Lemon Bread
Lemon Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with juice and grated rind of 1 lemon, 1/3 c. shortening or butter, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. milk and 1 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream shortening and add sugar.
Add lemon rind, eggs and milk.
Sift flour, salt, baking powder and add to mixture.
Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350Β°.
Mix 1/4 cup sugar with lemon juice and drizzle over bread while it is warm.
Recipe can be doubled.
Freezes well.
