Kulma(Norwegian Potato Balls, Or Something Like Them) is an easy dinner. Made with 4 c. grated raw potatoes, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 2 c. flour and 1 ham hock or butt portion of ham, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cook ham hock for 2 hours in a large pot of water.
Remove the ham hock from the water.
Spoon or form by hand dumplings (say about the size of a snowball).
Drop the "dumplings" in the water (or broth by now).
Cover; cook for 45 minutes.
Remove "dumplings" from the water; serve on a platter with the ham.
Just slice open the "dumpling" as you would a baked potato and add butter.
