Kari's Karamels
Kari'S Karamels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) brown sugar, dash of salt, 1 c. light corn syrup and 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Melt butter in a heavy 3-quart saucepan.
Add sugar and salt. Stir thoroughly.
Stir in corn syrup.
Mix well.
Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.
Cook and stir over medium heat to firm ball stage (245°).
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
Purée into a 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Cool and cut into squares; wrap in wax paper.
