Boil raisins in water for 5 minutes and let cool.
Cream shortening and sugar, then add well beaten eggs.
Add vanilla, combine with raisins.
Sift flour with baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
Add chopped nut meats.
Blend well and chill.
Drop from teaspoon on cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes in 350Β° oven.
