In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil until very hot.

Stir in Sofrito and stir for 20 seconds.

Add rice; stir until all ingredients are well mixed.

Add black beans, water, salt, garlic powder, pepper and envelopes of Sazon; stir and bring to a boil. Add olives and/or Vienna sausages (optional).

Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes (until all water is absorbed).

Stir rice once with a large fork after 10 to 15 minutes.

When rice is done, turn off heat and let stand for 5 minutes.

Stir rice once again after 5 minutes and enjoy!
