Jeff Davis Pie
Jeff Davis Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (9-inch) uncooked pastry shell, chilled, 2 c. imperial pure cane sugar, 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 1 tbsp. flour and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cream together until light and fluffy the butter or margarine and sugar.
Add flour, salt and vanilla; beat well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir milk in slowly. Pour into well chilled, uncooked crust and bake in hot oven at 450° for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350° and continue baking for 30 minutes or until firm.
Serve slightly warm.
