Jan Hagel Cookies
Jan Hagel Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 c. butter, 2 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1 egg yolk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cream together butter and sugar.
Beat in egg yolk.
Gradually stir in flour and cinnamon. Add almond extract.
Press dough thinly into a jelly roll pan or cookie sheet until sheet is completely covered.
(Dough will fill 2 cookie sheets.)
Beat egg white slightly with a small amount of water (enough to thin egg white and make it watery).
Brush egg white mixture thinly over dough to serve as a glaze.
Sprinkle almond slices over dough. Bake at 300Β° for 25 minutes.
Cut cookies into desired size and remove from baking sheet immediately. An alternative method is to make cookies with a cookie press.
