Jam Cake
Jam Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 c. sifted cake flour, 1 tsp. soda, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1 1/2 tsp. cloves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices.
Cream shortening; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Add jam. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
Fold in chopped nuts and raisins.
Pour into three waxed paper-lined 9-inch cake pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 35 or 40 minutes.
Frost with Caramel Frosting.
