Italian Crème Cake
Italian Crème Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 stick oleomargarine, 1/2 c. crisco, 1 c. sugar, 5 egg yolks and 2 c. cake flour (self-rising), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Cream oleomargarine and Crisco; add sugar and beat until mixture is smooth.
Add egg yolks and beat well.
Combine flour and soda and add to cream mixture.
Alternate with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla; add coconut and nuts and fold in egg whites. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 8-inch cake pans.
Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
Cool and use cream cheese frosting.
