Italian Cream Cake
Italian Cream Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 stick oleo, 1/2 c. crisco, 2 c. sugar, 5 egg yolks and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Cream together oleo and shortening.
Add sugar; beat until smooth.
Add egg yolks; beat well.
Combine flour and soda, sift 3 times.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Add vanilla, coconut and pecans.
Fold in egg whites.
Pour in 9 inch round pans and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until done. Cool and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
