Italian Cream Cake
Italian Cream Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. vegetable shortening, 2 c. granulated sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and 5 egg yolks, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cream the butter, shortening and sugar, then add the vanilla and egg yolks and cream all together.
Add alternately the sifted flour, buttermilk and soda.
Then add the pecans and coconut. Beat 5 egg yolks until very stiff.
Fold in the batter by hand, very delicately.
Bake in 3 (8-inch) cake pans, greased and floured, at 325Β° for 30 minutes.
