Italian Bread
Italian Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. salt and 2 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Stir together in a large bowl the flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
Mix together the warm water and oil.
Add to flour-yeast mixture and beat well with electric beater.
Stir in 1 1/2 to 2 cups of flour.
Knead in 1/2 to 1 cup of flour.
Let rise 1 hour in oiled bowl.
Punch down. Shape into 2 loaves.
Let rise 1/2 hour.
Sprinkle cornmeal on pan and place bread into it.
After it rises, make slits.
Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sesame seed.
Bake 30 minutes in a 375Β° oven.
