Irish Soda Bread
Irish Soda Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 2 c. unsifted whole wheat flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. baking soda and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Heat oven to 375Β°.
Combine flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Stir in raisins and caraway seed.
Add enough buttermilk to make a dough that is firm, but not dry.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until it is smooth, 2 or 3 minutes.
Shape the dough into a round loaf and, using a sharp knife, slash a large X 1/4-inch deep across the top. Place loaf on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the bottom of the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
