Icebox Cookies
Icebox Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. shortening (wesson oil, butter or margarine), 1 1/2 c. white sugar, 1 1/2 c. brown sugar (may be all white), 4 eggs and 5 c. sifted flour (plain), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream shortening and sugars.
Add well beaten eggs.
Add flour, soda, baking powder and spices, sifted together.
If nuts are used, add to mixture after flouring.
Knead well on floured board. Divide into several portions.
Roll and chill.
Slice thinly.
Bake in a 325° to 350° oven for about 10 to 15 minutes.
You may freeze these rolls of cookie dough and cook as you wish at later dates.
