Ice Cream is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. milk, scalded, 3 c. sugar, 6 tbsp. cornstarch, pinch of salt and 6 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix together the sugar, cornstarch, salt, eggs and enough milk to make a smooth paste; add to scalded milk.
When it comes to a boil, boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add remaining milk, vanilla and Grape-Nuts.
Can add Eagle Brand.
Yields 8 quarts.
Okay to use for 6 quarts, just don't add Eagle Brand.
