Huquenot Torte
Huquenot Torte is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 eggs, 1/4 c. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 3/4 c. sugar and 2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Heat oven to 325Β°.
Lightly oil a 9-inch or 10-inch pan.
Beat eggs at high speed until thick and lemon colored, about 5 minutes. Gradually beat in sugar until very thick.
Add flour, baking powder and salt.
Beat just until mixture is combined.
Fold in vanilla, apples, pecans and lemon juice.
Turn into dish.
Bake until top is crusty and brown, 40 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream.
Top with pecan halves if desired.
