Hot Fudge Sauce
Hot Fudge Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate, 1 3/4 c. sugar, 2 tsp. vanilla, 2 tbsp. butter or oleo and 3/4 c. boiling water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Chop chocolate coarsely.
Combine with oleo or butter and boiling water in a large saucepan.
Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted.
Add sugar and corn syrup. Heat slowly to boiling, lower heat and simmer gently 8 minutes. Watch carefully but do not stir.
Test for thickness on ice cube. Add vanilla.
Refrigerate leftover sauce in screw top jar.
Reheat in warm water (in jar) until soft enough to pour.
Makes 2 1/2 cups.
