Hoska Bread
Hoska Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. ground mace, 1 1/2 c. unsifted flour and 1 tsp. grated lemon peel, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Stir the first 6 ingredients together in mixing bowl.
Heat to lukewarm the water and margarine.
Pour lukewarm mixture into the first 6 ingredients; beat for 2 minutes.
Add the eggs and 1/2 cup unsifted flour; beat 2 more minutes.
Add about 3 more cups unsifted flour, stirring in to make fairly stiff dough which should be moist.
Knead about 10 minutes, then cover with plastic wrap and let dough rest in a pan for 1/2 hour.
