Homemade Soap
Homemade Soap is an easy dinner. Made with 6 to 10 qt. buckets of water, 4 cans lye and 16 lb. grease, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Bring water and lye to a hard boil in "black wash pot."
Add the grease.
Keep at a slow, rolling boil, stirring with a long paddle.
Cook until the soap thickens and falls rope-like when lifted out of pot or until jell sets in a saucer.
Let cool in pot. When set and firm enough to handle, cut in hunks.
Push out and cut into smaller pieces.
Place on a table or board in sun to dry.
