Holiday Cookies is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 34 minutes. Made with c. white sugar, c. crisco shortening, eggs, . vanilla and c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Add flour, salt and baking soda; mix well.
Add cherries, juice, dates and nuts; mix well.
Shape into balls about the size of a quarter and roll in powdered sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet (sprayed with Pam).
Place in preheated 375Β° oven.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden.
Makes 10 to 12 dozen.
They freeze well.
