Heavenly Onions
Heavenly Onions is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. butter, 2 large white onions, cut in rings and halved, 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced, 1/2 lb. swiss cheese, shredded and 10 slices french bread, both sides buttered (slice 1/4-inch thick and use more if needed), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Butter bread on both sides.
Sauté onions in 2 tablespoons butter.
Butter 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Layer mushrooms, onions, cheese and bread.
Mix soup, milk and soy sauce and pour over top.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake uncovered at 350° for 45 minutes.
