Hearty Bean Soup is an easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. mixed beans (dry), 1/2 pkg. ham bits, 1 qt. tomatoes and 1 large onion, diced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sort and wash beans.
Soak overnight.
Wash again and put beans in large Dutch oven and cover with water.
Add everything else.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer slowly until tender.
Add more water as they cook, if you need to.
Great served with slaw, cornbread and homemade applesauce.
