Health Bread
Health Bread is an impressive baked good you can prepare in about 1 hour 42 minutes. Made with to 6 1/2 c. plain flour, c. whole wheat flour, . dry yeast, c. quick rolled oats and c. whole bran cereal, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
In large bowl, thoroughly stir together 2 cups flour, whole wheat flour and yeast.
In another bowl, combine oats, bran cereal, raisins, boiling water, cottage cheese, oil and salt. Stir mixture constantly until oil is mixed in.
Add molasses to dry ingredients in mixer bowl.
Beat 1/2 minute at low speed, 3 minutes at high speed.
By hand, stir in enough flour to make a medium stiff dough.
Turn out on floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
Place in greased bowl and grease top of dough.
Let rise until double, about 1 hour.
Punch down and make into 3 loaves.
Let rise and bake 35 to 40 minutes in a 375Β° oven.
