Hawaiian-Style Parsnips
Hawaiian-Style Parsnips is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. parsnips (10 medium), 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 1 tbsp. cornstarch, 3/4 tsp. salt and 1 (8 1/4 oz.) can crushed pineapple, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Peel and slice parsnips.
Cook in small amount of salted water until tender (15 to 20 minutes); drain well.
In large saucepan blend brown sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Stir in undrained pineapple, orange peel and orange juice.
Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
Add butter; stir until melted.
Add parsnips to sauce.
Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
