Hattie Shannon'S Peanut Butter Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed, 1 c. granulated sugar, 2/3 c. shortening, 1/2 c. peanut butter and 3 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cream sugars, shortening and peanut butter; add beaten eggs. Sift flour; measure and sift again with salt and soda.
Add vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and nuts to creamed mixture.
Mix well.
Mold into balls; place on cookie sheet and flatten with fork, scoring both ways.
Bake in moderate oven, 350° to 375°, for 7 to 10 minutes.
Makes about 5 1/2 dozen cookies.
