Hard Soap is an easy dinner. Made with 5 lb. grease, 1/4 pt. ammonia, 1 box banner lye, 1/2 c. borax and 1 qt. cold water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix Borax and lye together.
When dissolved and cooled, add melted grease.
Stir well, then add ammonia.
Stir again until it thickens.
