Hard Rock Candy is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 3/4 c. water, 3/4 c. light corn syrup, 1/4 tsp. desired food coloring and 1/4 tsp. desired flavoring*, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Mix sugar, water and corn syrup in a large saucepan.
Cook over medium heat until mixture reaches 300Β° on candy thermometer or hard-crack stage.
Remove from heat.
Add food coloring and flavoring; mix well.
Pour into well-greased cookie pans; cool, enough to touch.
Cut with scissors into bite size pieces; dust with powdered sugar.
Store in airtight containers.
