Butter, gradually add sugar until smooth and creamy.
Yolks and flour alternately, blending well after each addition.
Whites stiff, but not dry.
Fold whites into sugar and butter mixture.
Add vanilla.
Bake at 350Β° for hour or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. This may be doubled to make a full pound.
