Green Chili Stew is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. stew beef, cut into cubes, 2 medium onions, minced, 2 tbsp. vegetable oil, 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes and 1 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Brown beef and onions in oil in large saucepan.
Add beans, tomatoes, water, chilies, beef broth granules, sugar and garlic. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
To serve, ladle into individual bowls and sprinkle with cheese.
Serve with warm tortillas.
Serves 6 to 8 people.
