Grape Jelly Fruit Cake
Grape Jelly Fruit Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or shortening, 1 c. sugar, 6 eggs, 1/2 glass grape jelly and 1 c. wine or 1 apple (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix shortening and sugar well, add eggs, one at a time, then jelly, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, melted charlotte and orange paste, sift flour and baking powder.
Roll fruits in 1/2 cup flour, add flour
1 cup at a time, add fruit and flour and vanilla.
Slowly hours or until done.
When tested, pour wine
When cold, put in a container, cut raw apple on top, add spoonfuls of wine over it, then put a tight lid over it, for two to three weeks before Christmas.
