Granny's Rolls
Granny'S Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 1 c. warm water, 1 c. boiling water, 1 c. shortening and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar and salt; stir to dissolve.
Cool and combine with yeast.
Stir in eggs.
Gradually add 4 cups flour, beating well.
Cover and let rise 1 hour.
Work in remaining 2 to 4 cups flour to make a very soft dough.
Cover and refrigerate overnight. May be kept in refrigerator as long as a week; use as needed. Form into rolls; brush with melted margarine.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Let rise 45 minutes or until light.
Bake at 400Β° for 10 to 15 minutes, until browned.
