Grandpa's Rolls
Grandpa'S Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1 c. lukewarm water, 1/4 c. shortening, 1/4 c. plus 1 tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream sugar and shortening in mixing bowl.
Dissolve yeast in water and add to mixture.
Add salt and flour.
Mix well.
Cover bowl and let set until dough is about double in size (takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours).
Put out on floured surface and knead for about 2 minutes.
Let set again until double in size (1 1/2 to 2 hours). Roll into small balls about the size of a walnut.
Put 3 of these in each cup of greased cupcake pan.
Let rise again until about double in size.
Bake at 400Β° until golden brown.
