Grandma's Tea Cakes
Grandma'S Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. plain flour, 2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 c. buttermilk and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Put the 4 cups plain flour in a large mixing bowl.
Make a hole in the middle by pressing the flour to the side.
Add sugar, eggs, buttermilk with baking soda dissolved in it and shortening. Work with hands until the dough is stiff enough to handle.
Roll to 1/8-inch thick.
Cut and sprinkle with nutmeg, coconut or anything desired.
Bake in a 400Β° oven for 10 minutes.
Makes about 60 tea cakes.
