Grandma's Sugar Cookies
Grandma'S Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. white sugar, 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 1/2 c. shortening (crisco), 1 tbsp. soda in 1 c. boiling water and 7 c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cream sugar and shortening.
Beat in eggs.
Add alternately dry ingredients, vanilla. Chill in refrigerator overnight if possible.
Roll out about 1/4-inch thick and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 425Β° for 5 to 7 minutes (watch that bottoms not burn).
Store in tight container. Makes 5 to 7 dozen average cookies.
