Grandma's Lye Soup
Grandma'S Lye Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. grease (lard), 1 can lewis lye, 1 qt. water, 1 c. salt and 1 box 20 mule borax, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Mix grease, lye and 1 quart water the night before and stir hard.
In the morning, add salt, 20 Mule Borax and 1 quart water. Boil 5 minutes, then leave on medium heat for 1 hour.
Set off the stove to cool.
Cut in any size cake desired and dry.
Age improves lye soup.
