Cream the shortening, sugar and egg.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together.
Pour enough hot boiling water into the cocoa to make a thin paste; fill cup with sweet milk.
Add dry ingredients, alternating with cocoa liquid, to wet mixture.
Add vanilla and vinegar.
Bake in greased square cake pan at 350Β° for about 30 minutes, or until done.
