Gooey Butter Cake
Gooey Butter Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, 1 stick butter or oleo, 1 tbsp. water and 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Mix together cake mix, 2 eggs, oleo and water.
Batter will be stiff.
Put in oblong (9 x 13-inch) greased pan.
Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar (save about 1/2 cup for topping) and the 3 eggs until thoroughly mixed.
Pour over cake mixture.
Add nuts on top, if desired.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup powdered sugar when cooled.
