Glorified Gingerbread Cake
Glorified Gingerbread Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 tsp. ginger and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Mix flour, sugar, shortening, ginger and cinnamon as for a pie crust (crumbly).
Remove 1/2 cup of this and set aside.
Into the rest, add egg, molasses, milk, soda and salt.
Blend well, pour into a greased 7 x 12-inch greased cake pan.
Crumble the remaining crumbs over the top.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 40 minutes, cake test with toothpick.
