Gingersnaps
Gingersnaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening or butter, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 c. molasses, 1/2 c. hot water and 6 c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Beat in molasses. Resift flour with other dry ingredients.
Add to molasses mixture, alternately with water.
Turn out onto a floured surface and knead well.
Roll thin and cut into 2-inch circles.
Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 350Β° oven.
Cool before removing from cookie sheets.
Yields 10 dozen cookies.
