Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 3/4 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. baking soda and 3/4 to 1 tsp. ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, soda and spices. Cream together shortening and sugar.
Beat in eggs, one at a time. Gradually add molasses, beating constantly.
Blend in flour, using low speed on mixer.
Add water; mix until smooth.
Pour into well-greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
Bake in 350Β° oven 35 to 45 minutes.
Serve warm.
Makes 9 servings.
May be topped with whipped cream.
