Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1 egg, 1/2 c. molasses, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Beat shortening and sugar until creamy.
Add egg and molasses.
Mix dry ingredients thoroughly in a different bowl.
Add to molasses mixture alternately with water.
Beat after each addition.
Pour batter into a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 35 to 40 minutes.
Sprinkle with sugar when done.
