Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg, 2 1/2 c. flour and 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cream together the shortening and sugar.
Add egg; beat well. Sift together dry ingredients.
Combine molasses and water; add alternately with flour mixture.
Line an 8 x 8 x 2-inch greased pan with greased wax paper.
Pour batter.
Bake at 350Β° for 50 to 60 minutes.
Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan.
