Ginger Cutouts
Ginger Cutouts is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 1 c. molasses, 1/2 c. boiling water, 2 tsp. soda and 3 1/2 c. flour (part whole wheat), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Melt shortening and mix with molasses and brown sugar until sugar dissolves.
Add soda to boiling water and add to first mixture.
Sift dry ingredients.
Beat well.
Add enough flour to make a stiff dough.
Cover and refrigerate.
Let age several days. Roll out 1/4-inch thick.
Cut out and decorate as desired.
Bake 10 minutes at 400Β°.
